Ron Garl

Since establishing his practice in 1970, Ron Garl has designed more than 150 golf courses worldwide. Some of the 85 golf courses Garl has designed in Florida include: Indian River Club, Vero Beach; Fiddlesticks Golf & Country Club, Ft. Myers; Sugarmill Woods Golf & Country Club, Homosassa; Grenelefe Golf Course (South Course) Haines City; Palm Beach Golf & Polo Club, West Palm Beach; and more.

He has a 30+ year career backed by a Bachelor of Science in turf grasses from the University of Florida, and is a recognized authority on the sport. He is a contributing author of Golf Course Development in Residential Communities, published by the Urban Land Institute.

“Our goal at Eagle Creek was quite simple: to create an outstanding golf course that was totally unique in the Orlando area. We have blended some unique Florida concepts along with waste areas to successfully create a course unlike any other in Central Florida. The concept of the course design at Eagle Creek is deeply rooted in the tradition of the game, inspired by the classic architectural forms and nuances of the Old World links.”

Howard Swan

Founded in 1987 by an international leader in golf course design, Howard Swan, MSc, Swan Golf Designs Limited, provides clients worldwide with the comprehensive professional practice of golf course architecture including feasibility studies, master planning and detailed design, design and establishment management, and general consultancy.

Having worked extensively in Europe, Swan, who is noted for course development in countries with little experience in the sport, designed the first golf course in Croatia in 1998. In 1980 he founded the British Association of Golf Course Constructors. Swan is past president of The European Institute of Golf Course Architects.

Swan recently completed a course for The Emerson Group, parent company of Emerson International, Inc., at the commercial real estate developers resort, Boavista, in Lagos, Portugal.

“Bringing a little bit of Europe and golf tradition to Eagle Creek has been a great challenge for me as a British Golf Course Architect. The compact greens, the rectangular tees as well as the style of many of the bunkers is truly traditional and essentially British and will make Eagle Creek stand apart.”
