Coach Alyssa Mercado
Golf Channel Academy Coach
Driven by a lifetime of elite competition, Alyssa Mercado brings a high-energy, modern approach to golf instruction as she actively pursues her full PGA Professional status.
Her coaching philosophy is deeply rooted in her own success at the highest levels of the sport. A Lake Mary native, Alyssa captured three state championships before transitioning to NCAA Division I golf at North Florida and Troy University. As a two-time team captain and a Sun Belt Conference champion, her years in the collegiate arena shaped her ability to develop talent, instill discipline, and build a winning mindset—principles she now passes on to her students.
Alyssa has focused much of her professional energy on expanding the game’s reach, particularly through her work as a US Kids Golf Certified coach. She is dedicated to guiding new golfers, leading dynamic women’s programs, and helping players of all ages build a fundamentally sound foundation from day one.
Currently, Alyssa is channeling her passion into on-course instruction, developing specialized playing-lesson packages designed for both adults and juniors. By teaching players how to bridge the gap between mechanical range practice and real scorecard results, her ultimate goal is to make the game more rewarding, engaging, and successful for every golfer she mentors.
Testimonials
Hi Coach Alyssa! Thank you so much for the kind words and a debrief on your time with Reid yesterday. He was beaming from within and his smile couldn’t have been any bigger when he was telling Larry about your time together on the course and how much fun he had. It was so cute to see! He said he said so much fun that he ‘couldn’t feel the heat’ 😊.
Thank you for all that you are doing to invest in Reid’s golf growth and development. We appreciate more than you know!
Reid has a natural comfort with you that really stands out and we are so excited that you will continue to work with Reid!
I am glad that you can see how hard he is working as well. That is all coming from within himself which is so fun to watch. We look forward to seeing you on the 26th!
Thank you again and have a terrific rest of the week!
